So not long after I attended a Christmas tour show that included Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer, Sara Groves and Leeland, I was sucked into the fray and never found a breather to sit down and tell of my tale. Soon, I decided to bring it all about as a Christmas in July special. Why not? It’s 90 degrees outside, and the humidity is rising. Much different than the cold we might experience here in the northeast in winter. But, perhaps it is these times when I want to recall some colder temps.
The “Love Came Down – A Christmas Pageant” tour came close to my hometown and I was glad I checked it out. Normally, my experience with holiday shows revolves around working a show that nine times out of 10 you would never see me attend otherwise. Point of Grace and have come to my neck of the woods far too many times, in my opinion.

So with not yet old Christmas record by the Jars boys, and new releases by Sara Groves and the newly back together Sixpence clan, I was excited to attend. I pondered why Leeland was thrown into the mix. But their short set at the beginning of mostly non-Christmas-related music was not too out of sync with the rest of the evening. What made it all better was when various members of Leeland came out with other bands to combine voices and instruments throughout the evening. Actually, all the bands seemed to play mix and match which always makes for a special time, in my opinion. After all, Dan Haseltine was a guest singer on “Silent Night” with Sixpence None the Richer’s album, “The Dawn of Grace”.
Looking at these photos and thinking of the music makes me want to dust off the music and put it in my player. Perhaps I will go do that as soon as I finish here. [img_assist|nid=939|title=Leigh Nash|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=undefined|height=undefined]
