Family feels less Fictional the second time around
Published by susan on Wed, 2009-06-17 21:36Midway through the set list Fiction Family had put together for their show at the Grey Eagle in Asheville, I remember thinking "This is for real...this has become more than just a side project for Sean[img_assist|nid=922|title=Fiction Family's Jon Foreman|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=285|height=190] Watkins (Nickel Creek) and Jon Foreman (Switchfoot)." And I can't say that the prospect of seeing more Fiction Family shows and several follow up albums bothers me in the least.

Published by kim on Sat, 2009-05-09 21:20Though Janet reported to us from GMA week this year, you won't find any artist interviews from her stint in Nash-vegas. In lieu of our own discussions with the bands, we'd like to direct your attention to one of our favorite radio stations, RadioU.

The Dove Awards in Photos
Published by janet on Sun, 2009-04-26 12:50And the Award goes too...
Published by janet on Fri, 2009-04-24 22:02My first night of press room GMA Dove Awards I was a little nervous, to say the least. First time jitters and just plain not knowing what to do made me glad that I did not eat first! Unfortunately I was not able to connect to wireless so I was not able to do the video stream that I had planned on, but one lesson learned it to come better prepared with my own wireless!! Sharing is not a Christian virtue in a press room setting. The list of winners is as follows:

GMA Day Five
Published by janet on Fri, 2009-04-24 21:52Day Five...staying alive!
The mid-week Wednesday hump is always a tough day to maneuver through. Its the last of the GMA events outside of the Dove awards, they last full day of contact with peers pre-press room. The day started off early with an artist symposium discussing Christian artists in a secular market. The discussion was interesting and enlightening on many levels. It was good to get the "heart of the artist" perspective on touring secular markets and maneuvering through secular interviews. It was a highlight of my week to see all the artists together.
GMA MP3 Give-Away contest
Published by janet on Thu, 2009-04-23 10:56Day four didn't have much in store for this weary GMA traveler. The majority of the day was spent standing and staring, mixed with a little sitting and staring. There weren't a plethora of showcases this year, and over all attendance was down by 25% (according to the official reports.) The evening found me meandering over to Rocketown to catch another performance by The Listening. I had not heard/seen many of the bands that were performing that evening, mainly because the rap genre is not one of my favorites and it is where a lot of these bands fall in the industry. However, while ther
Switchfoot releasing four albums!?!?
Published by kim on Wed, 2009-04-22 21:56Over the last several months, Switchfoot fans, myself included, have been seen watching live stream of the studio, reading posts on the boards, and most recently following the California dudes on Twitter. The reason? To try to find anything and everything about the next album. When is it going to be released? Has anyone heard any new songs? When will they tour to support the album?
More recently, many must be thinking, "Why is it taking so long?"
Well, the most recent post on Twitter provides an answer!
